I remember a broken rabit-hut behind the Idle Hour.  This winter snapshot from a trailways bus just missed it; it's up the trail a ways past a frozen spring.   There it is after these many years, full of ghosts, abandoned, screen door leading to the empty porch.

As legend has it, those who trudge the paths to see these Golden Mountains receive a Golden Chance. Beyond all expectation, our adventure-ridden photographer has trudged these paths and captured the essence of their Golden Spirit. Look deeply into their Golden Image, and you will receive your Golden Chance.  We don’t know how, we don’t know when, so be aware and on the lookout. It was a cold day with fog and rain and grey-rimmed clouds, when there appeared a long covered bridge. I think it was real, since such things exist in the ancient myths of New England.

While walking along a normal street a couple of blocks from City Hall Park in downtown Manhattan, our Heroic Photographer came across a distressed lady wrestling with a fold-up table full of 4 very large Scarlet Macaws. Curious, our Heroic Photographer paused and asked (stupidly),  "Do you want any help?" "Yes!" she said.  "These are the Parrots for Peace, and I'm looking for The Demonstration."  And how are you going to get  there? asked Heroic. "I don't know," said parrot lady, sadly. So our reluctant, yet helpful Heroic Photographer picked up one edge of the table. But wait! A second onlooker wandered by-- and hesitated! Heroic Photographer quickly ceded the table-edge, waving a happy Bon Voyage as the two new table- carriers wobbled away towards City Hall. Mission for Today! a.
