On the Nature of Conflict Resolution

Image
Anger sets the mind on fire, Dragging hot coals along the breast bone, searching for kindling, searching for a light to spark the white hot fuse. stabbing, searing, driving rage with icy calm, shooting bitter shrapnel, tempering the smitten soul, slicing through the broken worn out spirit, pulling the roots apart, exposing again a breaking heart, still striving reaching, craving for a sun, craving soil that isn’t caked with dead dry muddy quicksand, spiraling spinning, spitting, banging thumpity thumpity thump, thump, thump, thump There is no rhythm to it anymore! No inside shell, no place to go to ground. Nothing but an inside war torn up with foxholes, injured and shredded like a grated thing. How can a few remaining decades mend our very substance? Can I re-enter life again, with such a damaged heart? Oh gentle hope, I see you creeping in among the shadows!

Red Sumac and a Chain Link Fence

Image
Our hidden Sumac is often perplexed about what is important to contemplate next Should I act innocent while I plan my escape, Or wait for security plans to take shape? Am I locked in or out? Should I cower or shout? Should I look for a file or just sit here awhile? Maybe I'll worry tomorrow instead. It's late and I'm tired and ready for  bed.

Insubstantial Black

Image
Unbendable iron stanchions, crossed,   It's named a fence, but "fence" means pickets, whitewash, dogs and snapdragons, hollyhocks. These glossed posts are black in the core. Why wont my mind go through the open cells? Why this Raven black with just a hint of a moon to add dimension?

A February Fence

Image
I had a day with so many disparate activities to do, one after the other.  None of them involved going to a park or even a mudpuddle.  I did take a taxi and a bus and a train and a purposeful walk.  Somehow, it's just not the same.  D id I accomplish something?  What an unusual question.  I know who accomplished something, and it's  whoever made it over this fence, that's who!
