A Beautiful One

Crunched , bent, gnarled with beauty,
Thrashing  the air with petals,
Sizzling with spring, gnashing at the bones.

Caught in rampant grace,
There is no other year.

Those beautiful old trees in full bloom give us all hope!
(I'm told that the then Emperor of Japan gave the City of New York
its cherry trees well before Washington DC got theirs--and we can see
from your photograph that those very same trees are doing very well!)
