Just below the surface of my mind

There’s a current swimming just below the surface of my mind.
You feel it too, I know it!

Colored flashes stirred up and splashed in with pieces of today,
Splintered hopes and fractured memories
Tumbling with those brilliant sharded yesterdays.

Wasn’t it October when that red sparked letter vanished in a careless grate?
It was, I know it was!
